Description: The Cooper Hewitt is the National Museum of Design of the Smithsonian Institute. Naturally, the first thing to greet guests is the admissions desk. As such, the desk was designed to reflect the attention to detail the museum embodies. The fascia of the desk is 1/2″ thick heat curved, white laminated safety glass, which is backlight. the transaction surface is 3 ply, clear glass more than 1.5 inches thick, which gives the impression of great depth. On the practical side, other features include wire chases for the computers and security equipment, and easy service accessability.
